The Governor Livingston Competition Cheerleading squad competed against a crowded field of teams at David Brearley High School's "Bears Invitational Cheerleading Competition" on Saturday, February 5 in Kenilworth.

The Highlanders competed in the Medium Varsity category, which is meant for teams of 13-16 members. Captain Danielle Moran felt that she and her teammates performed their three-minute routine well.

"I feel like we did really well for our first time competing," said Moran. "It’s a new squad, so I think we did pretty well."

The Highlanders, according to Moran, were looking for an end result that simply brought their talents across to all in attendance, setting a goal to do their best in the competition.

"The goal coming in was just to do the best that we could, and I think that the girls did an amazing job," said Moran.
