OAKLAND, NJ — Pet parents in Oakland have an opportunity to get their animals vaccinated against rabies for free, but they'll need to register in advance.
The Oakland Board of Health and Ramapo Valley Animal Hospital are sponsoring the 2026 Oakland Free Rabies Clinic on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 1 to 3 p.m.
The clinic will take place at Ramapo Valley Animal Hospital, located at 347 Ramapo Valley Road in Oakland.
Registration is required by Wednesday, Nov. 4. Pet parents must complete the online registration form and submit any necessary supporting documents.
According to the borough, appointment times will be assigned once all registration materials have been received and approved.
Residents with multiple pets must submit a separate registration for each animal.
Pet parents seeking the three-year rabies vaccine must also provide proof of their animal's previous rabies vaccination by uploading the vaccination certificate.
Pets must be at least 4 months old, kept on a leash or in a carrier, and accompanied by an adult.
The borough did not specify what types of leashes and carriers pet parents should use.
Residents can find additional information from the borough's official clinic announcement.
