Boy Critically Injured After Being Struck By A Vehicle In Oakland: Report

The boy was crossing Franklin Avenue on a bicycle when he was struck, authorities said.

OAKLAND, N.J. - A 17-year-old boy suffered critical injuries Saturday night after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing Franklin Avenue on a bicycle, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal told The Record.

The boy was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center was still in critical condition Sunday morning, Grewal said in the report.

The motorist remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities' investigation, the prosecutor said in the report.

The fatal accident unit of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office and the Bergen County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene, according to the report.
