McFaul Environmental Center Presents Annual Maple Sugaring Event

The staff at the 81 acre County park will demonstrate the process of making maple syrup, from splitting the wood, to tapping the trees, to boiling the sap into the deliciously sweet Ramapo Gold. ”The tree tapping demonstrations take place at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 12 p.m. at the Sugar Shack located next to Depew Barn. No reservations are required for this free program

For those who want to sample the fresh maple syrup, join Bergen County Parks Department employees and volunteers at the annual pancake breakfastThe menu includes pancakes, served with pure Ramapo Gold maple syrup, sausages and coffee, tea or juice. Breakfast will be served at  9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.; reservations are required for breakfast. The cost is $5.00 per person; children under 3 are free. Please call for more information.
