Fire Strikes Page Drive Home
The house saw extensive damage after four area departments responded to a fire at the single-family residence.
A fire tore through a Page Drive home Friday afternoon, causing no injuries but leaving the building with extensive damage.
The Oakland Fire Department received the call around 2:30 p.m. Friday, according to fire officials, and extinguished the blaze in under a half an hour.
"It was a pretty quick knock down," said Assistant Fire Chief Curtis LeRoy, who was on the scene. "They were able to get it out pretty quickly."

The department sent out a second alarm on the fire, and one engine each from the Franklin Lakes and Midland Park fire departments and an engine and rescue truck from Wyckoff also responded to the blaze.
PSE&G was also on the scene to shut down gas and electricity to the house as a precaution after the lines were compomised, LeRoy said.

No injuries were reported from the fire. The homeowner, LeRoy said, was waiting on the house's front steps when firefighters arrived, and did not immediately need medical care after being checked on by emergency responders.
In the aftermath, firefighters rescued a pet cat that had been trapped in the home.
Though the blaze was quickly extinguished, LeRoy said that the home was in "pretty bad shape," and firefighters could be seen removing debris from the front and garage doors.
Fire officials could not yet determine a cause of the fire as of Friday afternoon.
