Oakland Man Had Sexual Images Of Children On His Computer: Prosecutor
BREAKING: Darren Ferwerda had a collection of sexually explicit videos and images of prepubescent boys and girls, authorities said.

OAKLAND, N.J. — Authorities determined that a borough man had several videos and images showing the sexual exploitation of young children on his computer after investigating him for several months, Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said.
Authorities searched Darren Ferwerda's Oakland home Aug. 23 during an investigation related to child pornography on the internet.
Several items were seized from Ferwerda's home and. after investigating, authorities found that Ferwerda used the internet to access, view, and collect "sexaully explicit images and videos of prepubescent and pubescent" boys and girls, Grewal said in a news release.

Ferwerda, 37, turned himself into authorities Wednesday and he was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, possession of child pornography, Grewal said.
Ferwerda was released on his recognizance, the prosecutor said. He is due to appear in Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court Dec. 14 at 8:30 a.m.
