Trailer Filled With Gatorade Falls Into Ravine Off 287 In Oakland, Police Said

The accident closed part of the highway for five hours Wednesday, state police said.

A trailer filled with Gatorade fell into a ravine off of 287 North following a multi-vehicle accident Wednesday night, state police said.

A Bergen County hazmat team was also working Thursday to clean up a fuel spill where the accident occurred, said Sgt. Jeff Flynn.

The tractor-trailer struck a Ford Fusion at mile marker 58.3 around 8:45 p.m., Flynn said.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was transported to a hospital with minor injuries, Flynn said.

The right and center lanes were closed for about five hours Wednesday night, police reported.

The female driver of the Fusion suffered minor injuries, police said. Authorities are investigating the crash.
