1 Killed, 1 Airlifted In Head-On South Jersey Crash: Police
Fifteen firefighters worked to extricate the 74-year-old man from his car before he was airlifted to the hospital, officials said.
DENNIS TWP., NJ — One driver was killed and another was airlifted with serious injuries after a head-on collision on Route 47 in Dennis Township, authorities said.
The crash happened Tuesday afternoon at milepost 18.8, a New Jersey State Police spokesperson told Patch.
A Toyota Prius heading north crossed the centerline of the road and collided head-on with a Nissan Pathfinder going south, police said.

The Toyota's driver, Thomas Grau, 55, of Falls, PA, was fatally injured in the collision, police said. The driver of the Nissan, 74-year-old Richard Schaaf of Ardmore, PA, was airlifted to a local hospital with serious injuries, police said.
Schaaf was trapped in the car during the crash and 15 firefighters worked to extricate him, the Dennis Volunteer Fire Company said.

The road was closed for about three hours as crews worked to clear the area, firefighters said.
This crash is still under investigation, police said, and no further information was immediately available.
