10,000 New Jobs In New Jersey: Here's Where

Big hirings have come to New Jersey, with more than 10,000 new jobs. Find out where and how to apply.

There is hope for the unemployed of New Jersey. The state added more than 10,000 jobs in June, meaning that 314,100 private-sector jobs have been created in the Garden State since February 2010.

The news comes on the heels of several companies announcing that they're opening their doors and hiring thousands of people in New Jersey this year (see list below).

Gov. Chris Christie, appearing in North Brunswick on Thursday, said the numbers show "no one in the Northeast has a better story of employing their citizens than this state does.

"And for those who are critical of this record, all I’ll say to them is, let’s see if they can improve upon it," he said. "Let’s see if they can make unemployment lower. Let’s see if they can employ more folks in the private sector."

Christie rattled off programs that he believes were helpful in bringing jobs in the state, including $14 billion in public-private investment; a $380 million unemployment insurance tax cut; and $2.32 billion in targeted, job-creating business tax cuts.
