12 Cape May County Officials Tapped to Aid Christie's Campaign

Christie's Campaign named its leadership team shortly after the governor announced his intention to run on Tuesday.

Shortly after he publicly announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for president in next year’s election, the campaign for Governor Chris Christie named announced more than 200 New Jersey residents – elected officials and businesspersons – have been tapped to help the governor is his bid for the White House.

A total of 12 of those named represent Cape May County in some capacity.

On his Political Leadership team, Christie named the following officials who represent Cape May County:

  • Frank LoBiondo, Congressman, NJ-02
  • Samuel D. Fiocchi, Assemblyman, District 1
  • Michael Donohue, Chairman, Cape May County
  • Tom Rotondi, Committeeman, Cape May County
  • Lynda Pagliughi, Committeewoman, Cape May County
  • Gary Schaffer, Sheriff, Cape May County
  • Rita Fulginiti, Clerk, Cape May County
  • Kristine Gabor, Freeholder, Cape May County
  • Will Morey, Freeholder, Cape May County
  • E. Marie Hayes, Freeholder, Cape May County
  • Gerald Thornton, Freeholder, Cape May County
  • Leonard Desiderio, Freeholder, Cape May County

He also listed his Financial Leadership Team, but no backers from Cape May County appeared on the list.

The campaign has a mailing address of a Post Office Box in Morristown, and noted that individuals named for the financial leadership team are doing so in a personal capacity and are not representative of his or her company. Business names were provided for convenience.
