15 Compete For $3,400 In Scholarships, Junior Miss Ocean City Crown This Weekend

Ocean City, NJ -- A total of 15 will compete for more than $3,400 in scholarships and awards and the crown of Junior Miss Ocean City this weekend.

The pageant takes place at the William and Nancy Hughes Performing Arts Center at Ocean City High School, 6th Street and Atlantic Avenue on Saturday, Oct. 22, 7 p.m.

Girls between the ages of 12 and 15 will compete in multiple categories, including a judge’s interview, alent, poise, composure and on-stage question.

The reigning Junior Miss Ocean City, Paige Aita, will crown her successor. Little Miss Ocean City Charlotte Erickson, Miss Ocean City McKayla Perry and former Miss Ocean City Sarah Rodriguez will all perform.

The Junior Miss Ocean City Pageant is one of three pageants Ocean City has for young women. The other two are Little Miss Ocean City and Miss Ocean City.

The winners of each pageant represent the community during the year at various events, contests and parades. They help to judge contests, pose for photos with visitors and work together.
