2 Halloween Traditions Continue In Ocean City

Dates have been announced for the Halloween Parade and the Spooks 'N' Kooks Costume Surf Contest.

Ocean City, NJ -- Two Halloween traditions continue in Ocean City this season.

The fifth annual Spooks ’N’ Kooks Costume Surf Contest is set for Sunday, Oct. 9.

Registration begins 9 a.m. at the Seventh Street Beach. Contest begins at 10 a.m.

Entry fee is 10 canned goods or a $10 ShopRite gift card. All proceeds benefit the Ocean City Ecumenical Council Food Cupboard.

Divisions include: Open, Longboard, Short Board, Women's and 13-and-Under.

The Halloween Parade is set for Thursday, Oct. 27, 7:15 p.m. There is no rain date.

The route is 6th to 11th streets on Asbury Avenue.

Registration is Oct. 1 through Oct. 25 at www.ochp.blogspot.com. There is no in-person registration.

The event is sponsored by the Ocean City Exchange Club.
