2 Local Broadway Stars Return Home To Ocean City

Morgan Kirner ("Merrily We Roll Along") and Angel Sigala ("New York, New York") are coming home to perform on the Ocean City Boardwalk.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — It's a sweet homecoming story for two former Ocean City Theatre Company performers who now have made their mark on the Great White Way.

Morgan Kirner and Angel Sigala, both of whom recently made their Broadway debuts, are coming home to headline the return of Broadway on the OC Boardwalk on July 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Joining the duo are musical theatre performers being featured in OCTC's 2024 Summer Season, including cast members from this August's professional production of "Grease."

Kirner is currently in the Tony Award Winning show "Merrily We Roll Along" on Broadway (Swing/ Dance Captain), according to her bio. She graduated from Absegami High School and got her start with the Ocean City Theatre Company and Surflight Theater in Beach Haven. She attended the Boston Conservatory, earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. Kirner worked regionally at the Paper Mill Playhouse, PCLO, Kansas City Starlight, and others. She toured the country as "Ermengarde" in the first national tour of "Hello, Dolly!" starring Betty Buckley.

According to his bio, Sigala made his Broadway debut by originating the role of Mateo Díaz in the Tony-nominated musical "New York, New York," directed by Susan Stroman, with music by John Kander, Fred Ebb, and Lin-Manuel Miranda. He is featured in the original Broadway cast recording and was a featured performer at the 76th Annual Tony Awards. A performing artist born and raised in México and the suburbs of Philadelphia. Sigala, a proud Dreamer (DACA recipient), is delighted to be back in Ocean City, NJ with OCTC. In 2016, Sigala got his first professional gig with OCTC playing Chino in "West Side Story." They also returned to OCTC three more times as Paul in "A Chorus Line," Pepper in "Mamma Mia!," and Spot Conlon in Newsies. Sigala is a graduate of the Musical Theatre program at Temple University in Philadelphia. Sigala also performed in the return of "¡Viva! Broadway at Curtain Up!" Live at Duffy Square, which was broadcast across New York. Most recently, Sigala played Michael in "Tick, Tick… BOOM!" alongside two other Broadway alumni at Theatre Horizon in Norristown, PA. Other favorite credits: Woof ("Hair" - Two River Theatre), Epifanio ("Mushroom" - People's Light), and "A Streetcar Named Desire" (Arden Theatre Company).

oceancitytheatrecompany.com. Tickets will be on sale in person at OCTC, 1501 West Ave., on Saturdays from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. You can also purchase tickets at the Music Pier starting 45 minutes prior to the curtain on July 17th.
