2 Suffer Electrical Shock While Working Outside Ocean City Home: Officials

The contractors were shocked when their metal ladder touched electrical supply lines, authorities said.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Two private contractors were airlifted after suffering an electrical shock while working in Ocean City Monday morning, officials said.

Shortly before 9 a.m., the contractors were working outside of a Somerset Lane home when their metal ladder touched electrical supply lines while being moved, Fire Chief Bernard Walker said.

One worker was initially shocked, while the second was injured after touching the ladder in an attempt to help the first worker, Walker said.

Both workers were flown to the burn center at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Walker said.
