2 Votes Give Levchuk Win In Official Ocean City Election Results

Incumbent Jody Levchuk was reelected to City Council with a razor-thin lead of 402 votes to Amie Vaules' 400, per official results.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Ocean City's municipal election results have been certified and incumbent 3rd Ward Councilman Jody Levchuk's razor-thin lead held out over challenger Amie L. Vaules.

The official results from the Cape May County Clerk's Office show that Levchuk received 402 votes to Vaules' 400 votes.

"I am beyond thrilled and humbled by this entire experience," Levchuk shared on his Facebook campaign page. "I would like to thank my entire family, my team, and the entire 3rd Ward for giving me the opportunity to serve you for the next 4 years."

It wasn't immediately clear if Vaules would seek a recount.

Additionally, Keith Hartzell will be rejoining City Council after winning a 2nd Ward seat, defeating Paul Stryker. Hartzell received 364 votes and Stryker received 312. Current 2nd Ward Councilman Tom Rotondi decided to not seek reelection.

In the 4th Ward, David Winslow, who was appointed to the council after Bobby Barr left to take a seat on the County Board of Commissioners, was chosen to continue serving as he defeated former Board of Education member Cecilia Gallelli-Keyes. Winslow received 531 votes and Gallelli-Keyes received 392 votes.

Newcomer Sean Barnes was elected to the At-Large council seat left vacant when Karen Bergman stepped down to take a city job. Barnes earned 1,836 votes compared to Michael DeVlieger, a former councilman who stepped down in 2021, who received 1,297 votes.

Terry Crowley Jr. ran unopposed in the 1st Ward and was reelected with 675 votes.
