The Wildwood police chief said the arrests were the mere product of "aggressive" enforcement that authorities plan to take to keep Wildwood safe.

“Arrests were from aggressive enforcement for alcohol violations on the beach during Friday, Saturday and Sunday,” said Wildwood Chief of Police Robert Regalbuto, “as well as heavy enforcement of disorderly persons on the Boardwalk and streets.”

According to the chief, members of the Wildwood Police Department will continue their aggressive stance throughout the summer season.

“Our focus on community policing is working,” said the chief. “Changes we have made in the department over the past years to make Wildwood crime-free are paying off. We will continue our strong stance on making Wildwood a safe community to visit and live and we will aggressively enforce laws to protect our community.”
