OCEAN CITY, NJ — From the Flower Show to the Doggie Dip and Bathe, there's plenty to do in Ocean City this weekend.
Ocean City Flower Show: Rich colors and aromas will fill the 47th annual Ocean City Flower Show. The event features artistic arrangements and a wide variety of categories. Commercial, amateur and kids' entries will compete for honors.
Show times are 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday (May 31), 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday (June 1), and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday (June 2) at the Music Pier. A sales pavilion will be open during the same hours. The show is sponsored by the Garden Club of Ocean City, and voluntary donations will be accepted at the door.

Displays fall into artistic design and horticulture divisions, and orchids, roses, succulents, potted plants, holiday-themed displays, wreaths and table exhibits are just a small sampling of the many featured classes.
Doggie Dip and Bathe to Save: The Humane Society of Ocean City will host a fundraiser from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday on the beach and boardwalk between Fifth and Sixth Streets. Dogs are invited to take a dip in the ocean and wash off with a special truck providing water on the boardwalk.

The event provides a brief exception to the local ordinances that prohibit dogs on the boardwalk and on the beach at this time of year. Entry is a $20 donation per dog, and a registration form is available at hsocnj.org/events.
All proceeds and donations go toward helping to house, care for, and enrich the lives of animals waiting to find permanent homes.
O'Neill East Coast Grom Tour Surfing Contest: Kids 17 and under will compete for a chance to win prizes from O’Neill, Dragon, Sun Bum and Heritage Surf Shop. The competition takes place at 7th Street Beach from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
