OCEAN CITY, NJ — The Ocean City Police Department has won accreditation for the sixth time, making it the first law enforcement agency in New Jersey to do so.
"Accredited status represents a significant professional achievement," according to the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP). "Accreditation acknowledges the implementation of policies and procedures that are conceptually sound and operationally effective."
NJSACOP accreditation program director Harry Delgado presented Chief Jay Prettyman with a certificate of accreditation at a recent City Council meeting.
