7th Street Surf Shop to Reopen in Ocean City Following Devastating Fire
The shop has been closed since a week before Memorial Day last year.

Ocean City, NJ -- The 7th Street Surf Shop is set to reopen on the Ocean City Boardwalk,
Co-owner Becky Friedel recently told the Ocean City Gazette that the renovated store will be open by Memorial Day.
It was destroyed in a fire on the Ocean City Boardwalk last year.

The $254,000 cost for a new building was covered by insurance, but $350,000 for new countertops and merchandise was only partially covered by insurance, according to the report.
Work was managed by Margate-based engineer John Rosenkrantz.

The fire began around 8 p.m. on Saturday night, May 15, 2015. No one was injured in the fire, which was caused by an electrical shortage.
