CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, NJ — Cape May County authorities are investigating reports of alleged abuse that may have occurred in the Woodbine School District, according to an announcement from Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland.
The Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office said it is conducting the investigation with the New Jersey State Police Woodbine Barracks.

The Cape May County investigation is ongoing, according to the prosecutor’s office. The announcement said law enforcement are working to gather relevant information so a thorough investigation can be completed regarding any allegations of abuse. No further details are being released because the investigation is active, according to the announcement.
The prosecutor’s office is asking for the public’s help as investigators continue their work. Anyone who may have information related to any incidents is encouraged to come forward by contacting the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office at 609-465-1135. Information also can be submitted anonymously through the prosecutor’s office website at cmcpo.tips.
“The safety and well-being of our community, especially our children, remains our highest priority,” Sutherland said.
The announcement said Stebbins has charges pending out of Atlantic County and is currently detained.
