OCEAN CITY, NJ — One person was rescued and one remains missing Tuesday morning following a water rescue Monday night in Ocean City, according to officials.
At about 5:05 p.m. Monday, the U.S. Coast Guard received a report of a missing 19-year-old man who was last seen on a boogie board in the surf near 10th Street, Coast Guard officials told Patch.
Two people were on boogie boards about 200 yards from the shore, the Coast Guard said.
One was successfully rescued by the Ocean City Beach Patrol, and told authorities that they saw the missing male lose his boogie board before being hit by a wave and failing to resurface.
The search is ongoing as of Tuesday morning, according to Action News.
