2 Ocean City Residents Face Drug Charges After Search Warrant: Police

Police said narcotics and distribution paraphernalia were recovered during a July 23 search on Haven Avenue.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Two Ocean City residents were charged after a court-authorized search warrant was executed at a home in the 400 block of Haven Avenue on July 23, according to the Ocean City Police Department.

Police said members of the department's Detective Bureau and K-9 Unit worked with the Cape May County SWAT Team and the Cape May County Prosecutors Office during the search, which was related to a narcotics investigation. According to police, narcotics and paraphernalia related to the distribution of narcotics were recovered from the residence.

As a result of the search, Umar Lewis, 31, and Tyyona White, 37, both of Ocean City, were arrested and charged with possession of CDS with intent to distribute, a third-degree offense; possession of CDS with intent to distribute in a school zone, a third-degree offense; possession of CDS, a third-degree offense; and possession with intent to distribute drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree offense.

Lewis was processed on a warrant complaint and lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center pending a detention hearing. White was released after being processed on a complaint summons, according to police.
