OCEAN CITY, NJ — Ocean City Theatre Company will bring "Schoolhouse Rock Live!" to the Ocean City Music Pier on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., closing out the organization's 2026 Summer Children's Theatre Series.
The production is based on the Emmy Award-winning animated television series and features songs including "Conjunction Junction," "I'm Just a Bill," "Lolly, Lolly, Lolly" and "Three Is a Magic Number." According to the announcement, the stage musical follows Tom, a nervous schoolteacher preparing for his first day in the classroom, as his imagination comes to life through characters that help him see creativity as a way to inspire students.
The show is the final production in OCTC's summer children's lineup. Ocean City Theatre Company said the performance is aimed at audiences of all ages and is part of the group's effort to offer live theater for families in Ocean City.
"This show is pure patriotic iconic fun and a great way keep celebrating America's 250th birthday," said Michael Hartman, founding artistic director of Ocean City Theatre Company. "Many parents will instantly recognize these classic songs from their own childhood, while today's children will be introduced to the timeless music and messages that have entertained and educated generations. It's the perfect family outing before the new school year begins."
Ocean City Theatre Company is now in its 19th season of the Summer Children's Theatre Series. According to the announcement, the series is intended to make professional live theater accessible and affordable for families while encouraging interest in the performing arts. The company said each production features professional performers from across the country.
Tickets are priced at $11 in advance and $13 on the day of the performance. The show will be held at the Ocean City Music Pier at Moorlyn Terrace and the Boardwalk in Ocean City.
