OCEAN CITY, NJ — Ocean City Theatre Company will present "Schoolhouse Rock Live!" on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Ocean City Music Pier, closing the company's 2026 Summer Children's Theatre Series.
The production is billed as a high-energy musical for audiences of all ages and is the final show in this summer's children's lineup.
Based on the Emmy Award-winning animated television series, the stage show brings songs including "Conjunction Junction," "I'm Just a Bill," "Lolly, Lolly, Lolly" and "Three Is a Magic Number" to the Music Pier stage. The story follows Tom, a nervous schoolteacher preparing for his first day in the classroom, as characters from his imagination help him see how creativity can inspire students.
"This show is pure patriotic fun and a great way to celebrate America's 250th birthday," said Michael Hartman, Founding Artistic Director of Ocean City Theatre Company. "Many parents will instantly recognize these classic songs from their own childhood, while today's children will be introduced to the timeless music and messages that have entertained and educated generations. It's the perfect family outing before the new school year begins."
Ocean City Theatre Company said the summer children's series is now in its 19th season. According to the company, the program is aimed at making professional live theater accessible and affordable for families while encouraging an early interest in the performing arts.
Tickets for "Schoolhouse Rock Live!" are $11 in advance and $13 on the day of the performance. The show starts at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the Ocean City Music Pier at Moorlyn Terrace and the Boardwalk in Ocean City.
