Annual Bike Auction Sets July Return In Ocean City

The popular event allows people to bid on used bicycles, providing an opportunity to get bikes at a low cost.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — As we get into the summer season, a popular event has set its return to Ocean City: the annual Bicycle Auction.

You'll have the chance to place your bids on the bikes 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on July 9 at the Shelter Road Recycling Center at 1 Shelter Road (off Tennessee Avenue, which intersects Bay Avenue near 23rd Street).

Anyone is invited to bid on bikes deemed by the Ocean City Police Department to abandoned or unclaimed. It provides a great opportunity to purchase bikes at a low cost. Other miscellaneous surplus items will also be auctioned.

Registration for the event begins at 9:15 a.m., and a driver’s license, passport or valid ID is required to register.

All items are sold “as is/where is” with no warranties implied or offered. Accepted forms of payment are bank checks with ID, local checks and cash. No credit cards will be accepted. Rain date is Wednesday, July 10.
