Anybody Interested in Christening the 'Four Summits Run?'

The completion of the Route 52 causeway pedestrian lane in May 2012 will open up the possibility of a great nine-mile loop covering four tall bridges.

The exact date of the opening is still unclear ... but it should happen around Memorial Day. What better way to christen the new causeway than with a long run?

If anybody's interested in participating in an unofficial and informal run on the first Saturday after the causeway opens, visit the Ocean City Patch Facebook page. Let's see if we can organize something there.

If we park near the finish at the Ocean City Music Pier and walk across town to a start at the foot of the new Ninth Street Bridge, the run should be about 8.8 miles and include "The Four Summits:" Mount Ocean City (new Ninth Street Bridge), Mount Somers Point (new Ship Channel Bridge), Mount Longport (Dolores Cooper Bridge on the Longport causeway) and Mount Inlet (Ocean City-Longport toll bridge).
