Auditions for Youth Production of 'Sweeney Todd' Set for Sunday

The Youth Opera of South Jersey is seeking boys and girls ages 8 to 18 to perform in a summer production of "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street."

Open auditions for youth of all levels of experience are scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 4, at , Eighth Street and Central Avenue in Ocean City.

Participants should enter through the back doors of St. Peter's on the lower level, bring sheet music and be prepared to sing 16 to 24 bars of two contrasting songs.

"If you are new at this, come ready to sing whatever you are comfortable with," the opera suggests.

The Youth Opera of South Jersey is a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching young people the proper way to sing and perform.
