Belleplain State Forest Gets New Campsites

Cape May County's Belleplain State Forest recently installed 36 new campsites with plenty of amenities, officials announced.

WOODBINE, NJ — Belleplain State Forest recently installed 36 new campsites, the New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry announced.

The campsites have water and electric hookups, officials said. They offer municipal water, 30/50 amp and household plugs.

Amenities for the site include a fire ring, picnic table and bathrooms within walking distance, officials said.

Other campsites at Belleplain include shelters, lean-tos, family campsites, group sites and one group cabin.

Visit the Department of Environmental Protection to make a reservation for the new sites.

Belleplain, part of the Pinelands National Reserve, has the greatest variety of habitats in New Jersey, according to the DEP. It contains more than 40 miles of trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding. Belleplain consists of 22,251 acres spanning Cape May and Cumberland counties.
