In her 13 years at the Intermediate School, Young touched many hearts teaching music. But her students said she was always more than a teacher -- she was a woman who opened her classroom door to anyone who had a problem.
Young would lend a helping hand and a listening ear in any time of need. Her bright smile and energetic manner could light up a room, and she shared her happiness with the students.
Donations are being accepted through St. Peter's Church in Ocean City, memo Betsy Young. Monetary donations will fund the surviving family and existing medical bills. A benefit in late September will be held to support the family.
