Body Of Missing Cape May Co. Man Found: State Police

Roy Osmundsen, 54, went missing on Sept. 27 in Vineland. Police confirmed Friday that his body had been recovered.

NEW JERSEY — The body of a South Jersey man with dementia who went missing on Sept. 27 has been recovered, New Jersey State Police said.

A State Police spokesperson confirmed to Patch that the body found was Roy Osmundsen, 54, of Cape May Court House.

Police did not offer any additional details other than that the body was found, noting that it was an "active investigation."

Osmundsen had dementia, and had last been seen leaving his car on State Highway 55 in Vineland Tuesday afternoon, police previously said.

NJ Advance Media reported that his family had been passing out flyers and offering a $20,000 reward in the disappearance.

Osmundsen's son told the outlet that the body was found under an overpass close to where he was last seen.
