Body Pulled From Water ID'd As Missing Ocean City Swimmer: Police

The 19-year-old man was boogie boarding when he disappeared on May 18.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — A body pulled from the water in Sea Isle City has been identified as the Ocean City swimmer who went missing on May 18, officials said Tuesday.

The 19-year-old man was boogie boarding in Ocean City when he was hit by a wave and didn't resurface, authorities previously said.

On June 19, the body of a dead man was discovered in Sea Isle City near 72nd Street, Lt. Dan Lancaster said.

After an investigation, the body was positively identified as the missing swimmer from Ocean City, Lancaster said.

The family has been notified and has requested privacy at this time, Lancaster said.
