Two elderly men died in two separate N.J. crashes overnight, police said.

Two elderly died in two separate N.J. crashes late Tuesday and early Wednesday, police said.
Frank Cirillo, 75, died in a crash Wednesday when he struck a utility pole without braking, police said. Just 10 hours earlier, about a half hour to the south, Howard Severance, 87, was struck and killed by a car, police said.
At approximately 7:19 am, the Egg Harbor Township Police Department responded to the Wednesday crash at Ocean Heights Avenue in the area of Swift Drive, the Scullville section of the township.

A 2013 Honda Civic operated by Cirillo, of Hamilton Township, was traveling east on Ocean Heights Avenue when he, for an unknown reason at this time, drifted off the road, struck a curb and then struck a utility pole without braking.
Cirillo was treated at the scene by AtlantiCare paramedics and the Egg Harbor Township Ambulance Squad. He was transported to Shore Medical Center where he died from his injuries, police said.

Traffic on Ocean Heights Avenue was detoured for approximately an hour while the crash was cleared. This crash was investigated by Officer Patrick Daly of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit.
On Tuesday, at 9:13 p.m., the Middle Township Police Department responded to a crash that occurred on Route 9, just south of Shellbay Avenue.
Brendyn Anaya was traveling south on Route 9 when he struck a pedestrian crossing the road. The pedestrian was identified as Severance of Green Creek. Severance was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash is being investigated by the Middle Township Police Department Fatal Crash Team and the Major Crimes Unit. The crash is actively being investigated.
Responding to the scene was Middle Township Rescue, Medics from AtlantiCare, Green Creek Fire, and Rio Grande Fire Company. Traffic was detoured around the scene for three hours.
