Broadway Star to Help Greater Ocean City Theatre Company Open 2016 Season

Ocean City, NJ -- Broadway star Mary Testa will join the professional members of the Greater Ocean City Theatre Company (OCTC) in a salute to Broadway on Wednesday, June 29, 7:30 p.m.  at the historic Ocean City Music Pier.

“Broadway on the OC Boardwalk” kicks off the theater company’s ninth official season, OCTC said.

It gives actors appearing in summer productions of “West Side Story” and “Disney’s The Little Mermaid” the chance to share their talents in a casual, fun and extremely entertaining showcase.

Testa has been nominated for two Tony Awards.  Broadway credits include “Guys and Dolls,” “Xanadu” (Drama Desk nomination), “Chicago,” “42nd Street” (Tony nomination), “Marie Christine” (Cast Album), “On the Town” (Tony Nomination), “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way To The Forum” (Cast Album), “The Rink,” “Marilyn,” “Barnum” and “The Zeigfeld Follies of 1936.”

Before the show, Testa will participate in a special meet-and-greet with youth of the Greater Ocean City Theatre Company’s Junior Company.

Artistic Director, Michael Hartman shared that “having a Broadway veteran like Mary Testa join us for a celebration is such a thrilling way to welcome our 2016 summer season.”
