Broadway Star To Help OCTC Kick Off 10th Season At Ocean City Music Pier

Wonu Ogunfowora will join the professional members of the theater company for "Broadway on the OC Boardwalk VIII."

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The Greater Ocean City Theatre Company will kick off its 10th season alongside a Broadway star at the historic Ocean City Music Pier. Wonu Ogunfowora will join the professional members of the theater company for “Broadway on the OC Boardwalk VIII” on Wednesday, June 28, 7:30 p.m. Ogunfowora recently made her Broadway debut in “A Bronx Tale, The Musical.”

Past OCTC credits include “Hairspray,” “Swingin’ Into The Holidays” and “Smokey Joe’s Café.” She has also been seen in the National Tour of “Sister Act” and Off-Broadway productions of “Little Shop of Horrors” and “All Shook Up.”

A casting search that included stops in Philadelphia and New York City in addition to Ocean City resulted in over 500 performers auditioning for the company's 2017 Broadway Series.

Performers appearing in summer productions of “Fiddler on the Roof” and “Mary Poppins” will share their talents in this special event. The company will also welcome back past performers who were featured in former OCTC seasons. Past performers include Allyson Pace (Cats),Morgan Kirner (Cinderella and Peter Pan), Liz Toal (Singing in the Rain and The Music Man),Joey Valliere (The World Goes Round and Forever Plaid), Chad Parsons (Grease andSeussical), and Whitney Hayes (Hairspray and Cinderella).
