Broadway Star From Ocean City Leading OCTC Class Oct. 23

Michael Lee Brown of Broadway's "Dear Evan Hansen" returns to Ocean City.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — An Ocean City native who recently made his Broadway debut is giving back to the community in which he fell in love with the theater for the first time.

Michael Lee Brown of Broadway’s “Dear Evan Hansen” will lead a class for students in 7th through 12th grades in Ocean City later this month, the Greater Ocean City Theatre Company announced Monday night.
Area students will have the chance to work directly with Brown during the Greater Ocean City Theatre Company’s Master Class on Monday, Oct. 23, at Ocean City Theatre Company’s Rehearsal Studio, 1501 West Avenue, Ocean City, NJ.

Brown got his start with the Greater Ocean City Theatre Company when he was a young child attending summer theater camp. He went on to a successful college experience and career in regional theater, and will be making his Broadway debut as Evan Hansen during the matinee performances of this Tony Award winning Broadway hit.

He will show his versatility by also taking on the roles of Connor and Jared in the show. The class will feature movement from Dear Evan Hansen, audition technique, scene work and more. Brown will also answer questions about his Broadway experience.
