Bystander Injured In Jersey Shore Shooting: Prosecutor

The accused shooter was identified, but remains at large, according to the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office.

WILDWOOD, NJ — Authorities are investigating a shooting in Wildwood that left a bystander critically injured, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Wildwood Police Chief Joseph Murphy announced.

Few details were released about the shooting, which occurred on the 3800 block of Pacific Avenue, authorities said.

The shooting resulted in an "innocent bystander" being injured and is currently hospitalized in critical condition, Sutherland and Murphy said.

Authorities said the suspect has been identified, but is still at large. No details were released about the identity of the alleged shooter.

"Our priority at this time is ensuring the safety of the community and bringing the perpetrator to justice," Sutherland and Murphy said.
