Cape Assist Hosts a Successful Annual Endless Summer Event

AVALON, NJ – Cape Assist hosted the return of its Endless Summer Benefit on Thursday evening, Sept. 22, an opportunity for over 300 guests to get to know the nonprofit, how they can take part in building a healthier and safer community for Cape May County’s youth and families and participate in and enjoy incredible authentic Polynesian entertainment.

Held in Avalon at the ICONA Windrift, the 8th annual benefit went off without a hitch thanks to the support and thoughtfulness of many major donors like Sturdy Savings Bank, Avalon Lions Club and ICONA Windrift.

The enthusiastic community and generous donors all helped raise a record-breaking $83,000, surpassing any of Cape Assist’s past benefits. Cape Assist depends on the generosity of local donors and support so they may continue the work they do and provide the much-needed services and programs throughout Cape May County. As part of their mission, they are dedicated to preventing and treating substance misuse and related issues in Cape May County through education, advocacy, counseling, and community collaboration.

“We look forward to this event every year because it lets us show our heart to the community. We get to tell them about what Cape Assist is really about,” said Tusa Magalogo-Fitisemanu, Cape Assist’s Director of Communications. “That’s why this one is so special. After two years of COVID without it, we got to bring everyone together again for a special night celebrating the work we do and the partnerships that helped make it happen every day.”

The Cape Assist team, along with the help of local volunteers and community business members, was able to incorporate elaborate decor and flower arrangements by Jennie Mopsik of Monarchs Concierge Flowers to bring the Polynesian vibe and feel into the room. To add to that, Cape Assist formally unveiled their new logo as it was featured throughout the venue.

Springer’s Homemade Ice Cream concluded the event with a table of their decadent desserts as access to an exclusive chance auction for fabulous baskets, combined with a live auction hosted by the well-known local legend, John Lynch, closed out the night. Those who made donations, participated in the auction, promoted the event, or even just bought tickets were instrumental in making this night one to remember.

“What an amazing way to highlight 40 amazing years,” said Katie Faldetta, Executive Director and CEO of Cape Assist. “Our team has been working so hard over the last few months to bring back this event, but we couldn’t do it without our amazing sponsors, supporters and Cape Assist Family.”
