Cape May County Man Charged in Child Pornography Bust

A 30-year-old Cape May County man has been charged with third-degree possession of child pornography and second-degree distribution of child pornography, Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Wildwood Crest Police Captain Joseph McGrath said Wednesday morning.
Eric Garnett, of Wildwood Crest, was arrested following an investigation that stemmed from a Cyber Tip of an unknown person uploading videos/images of suspected child pornography from a personal account. The tip came from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Investigators executed a search warrant at a home on the 100 block of East Rosemary, Wildwood Crest on April 13. They allegedly discovered multiple files of suspected child pornography, and several computers were seized as evidence.

Garnett was arrested, charged and released on a summons, pending court.
Investigators included members of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and the Wildwood Crest Police Department. The Homeland Security Investigations (ICEDivision), and the New Jersey State Police, Digital Technology Unit assisted in the investigation.
