Cape May County Under Code Blue Weather Advisory Through The Weekend

Temperatures are expected to range between 25 and 28 degrees each of the next four nights.

Cape May County will be under a “Code Blue” weather advisory each night through the weekend, county officials announced Thursday morning.

The Health Officer issued the Code Blue advisory for Cape May County effective from 6 p.m. on Jan. 5 until 6 a.m. on Jan. 6. The Code Blue is also in effect from 6 p.m. on Jan. 6 to 6 a.m. Jan. 7, from 6 p.m. Jan. 7 to 6 a.m. Jan. 8 and again from 6 p.m. Jan. 8 to 6 a.m. Jan. 9.

The temperature was expected to drop to 28 degrees Thursday night with precipitation, and below 25 degrees Friday night through Sunday night.

Persons seeking temporary shelter in a warming center should contact their local municipality. Additional resources are available by calling the County Homeless Hotline Service at 1-877-886-1325 or 609-886-1325.
