Cape May County Zoo Named 'Best' Zoo In New Jersey

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, N.J. — The Cape May County Park & Zoo was named best in New Jersey. That's according to a list from Reader's Digest that chose the best zoo in every state.

"Nothing makes for a better day trip than the exciting (and free!) Cape May County Park & Zoo," the article says. "Open every day except Christmas, this zoo boasts favorites such as the ring-tailed lemur family, magnificent snow leopards, and endangered red pandas. The reptile and amphibian house are also worth a walk-through for brightly-colored poisonous tree frogs.

Although zoo admission is free, they appreciate donations. According to Reader's Digest, the 200-acre zoo as over 550 animals.

Reader's Digest did not list their criteria for determining the best zoos, but the article says their selection runs from "the largest to the oldest to the most fascinating."
