Car Explodes After Lightning Hits Pole, Wires Fall In Ocean City
A reader shared videos of a lightning strike that knocked over a pole and resulted in the car catching on fire Tuesday night.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The sky lit up in Ocean City Tuesday night after lightning struck a utility pole. As a result, the wires fell onto a car, leading the car to explode in flames. A Patch reader posted video from the scene online, and those videos can be found below.
No one was injured in the incident, which took place at about 11 p.m. on 27th Street near Asbury Avenue. A second car was damaged in the incident, and about 15 people lost power, according to 6 ABC.
