Children's Theatre Season Kicks Off At Ocean City Music Pier
Ocean City Theatre Company's 2023 summer children's series opens on July 11 with "Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat."

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Family-friendly children's theatre returns to Ocean City on July 11 with Ocean City Theatre Company's production of "Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat."
Directed by Brendan Maly, this stage adaptation brings to life the characters that we have come to know and love. You only have one chance to see "Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat" at the Ocean City Music Pier on July 11 at 10:30 a.m.
From the moment his tall, red-and-white-striped hat appears around the door, Sally and her brother know that The Cat in the Hat is the funniest, most mischievous cat they have ever met. With the trickiest of tricks and the craziest of ideas, he is certainly loads of fun. Performing some amazing circus tricks and bringing along some sneaky friends, he turns a rainy afternoon into a fantastic adventure… but what will mom find when she gets home?

"Our Children's Theatre series combines affordable entertainment, creativity, children's literature, imagination, and the arts in a spectacular experience for the young and young at heart," said Michael Hartman, Artistic Director for the Ocean City Theatre Company. "We look forward to creating magical summer memories at the Music Pier and cherish the opportunity to introduce live theatre to kids."
The OCTC Children's Theatre Series features professional and collegiate performers from a New York City audition process. The talented and energetic cast for THE CAT IN THE HAT includes Aidan Brandt (The Cat in the Hat), Mitchell Critelli (Boy), Megan Panter (Thing 1), Kennedy Thompson (Sally), Mikey Vultaggio (Fish) and Emily Wynn (Thing 2).

Ocean City Theatre Company's Children's Series continues Tuesday mornings at 10:30, with "Red Riding Hood's Woods" on July 18, "Pinocchio" on July 25 and "Rapunzel" on Aug. 1.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at oceancitytheatrecompany.com. Prices are $10 in advance and $12 on the day of the performance. The OCTC Music Pier Box Office will open one hour before the curtain, but advance sales via our website are encouraged.
"Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat" is based on the book by Theodor Geisel (Dr. Seuss), was originally produced by the National Theatre of Great Britain, was adapted and directed initially by Katie Mitchess, and is presented through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
