Coastal Flood Advisory In Effect For Ocean City Monday Night

BREAKING: Minor tidal flooding is possible.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect for Ocean City from 9 p.m. Monday night to 3 a.m. Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Minor tidal flooding is possible, particularly in the hours around high tide on the bay side of Ocean City at about 11 p.m. Monday, city officials said in a special weather statement issued Monday night.

The National Weather Service is predicting a a tide of 5.7 feet on the mean low water scale. This comes after a tide level of 6.33 feet in Ocean City on Sunday morning. See sampling of Ocean City historic tides here: www.ocnj.us/octides.

Residents should monitor conditions and be prepared to move vehicles from areas that typically experience flooding. The roads closer to the beach including Central and Wesley avenues are at higher elevation, officials said.
