Coastal Flood Advisory, Flood Watch For Ocean City Monday

More flooding may be in store for Ocean City on Monday.

OCEAN CITY, NJ - More flooding may be on its way to Ocean City. Ocean City will be under a Coastal Flood Advisory and a Flood Watch on Monday, the National Weather Service announced. The Coastal Flood Advisory will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 26. The Flood Watch will be in effect from 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 26, until 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27.

Monday morning’s high tide is expected to bring a level of 6.0 feet on the mean low water (MLW) scale, according to the advisory. This is about the same level as the tides on Saturday evening (6.05 MLW) and Sunday morning (5.97 MLW) that brought flooding to the island, according to a special weather statement issued by the city Sunday evening.

Visit www.ocnj.us/octides to compare the prediction to other recent and historic tide levels. If predicted rain coincides with high tide, conditions could be worse. High tide is expected at about 10:08 a.m. Monday morning on the bay side of the city.
