County Introduces Budget That Includes Slight Tax Increase
The county introduced a $146.3 million budget, according to the Ocean City Gazette.

The Cape May County Freeholders introduced a $146.3 million budget last week that includes a property tax rate increase of less than half a cent, the Ocean City Gazette reports.
The total amount to be raised by taxation is $106 million, and the budget makes use of about 50 percent of the county’s $18.6 million surplus, about $9.5 million.
Total operating expenses are $69.6 million, and salaries and wages are $51.5 million.

Last year’s county budget was $151.2 million, with $103 million raised through taxation.
