Crawling to the Finish: Pamper Scamper Draws More Than 50

The annual Pamper Scamper drew a large crowd despite the hot and humid weather on Tuesday morning.

With more than 50 babies of ages 15 months and younger competing, the event had heats for different age-groups. The race was held on the volleyball courts on the beach between Fifth and Sixth streets.

Children were placed in the center ring, while parents lined the outside of a mat to call their children and try to get them over to the sand. The first child to touch the sand by crawling was the winner. 

The winners were:

9 months and under

HEAT 1

2nd Place- Brecklyn Foley, 8 months of Ocean City. 

1st place-Corey Clemens, 9 months of Ocean City. 51 seconds.

2nd Place- Shane McGonigle, 8 months of Haddonfield. 1:13 seconds

1st Place- Rocco Rice, 9 months of Ocean City. 1:04 seconds

12 months and under

2nd Place- Natalie Sander, 10 months of Mays Landing. 1:52 seconds

1st Place-Owen Adamson, 10 months of Mays Landing. 1:09 seconds
