Election Day 2016 Results: How Did Cape May And Atlantic Counties Vote In The Presidential Election?
One county went for Trump, but it wasn't the one where he built his casino empire.

Donald Trump is the new president this morning, and although most of New Jersey voted for Democrat Hillary Clinton, Cape May County voters came out in favor of the former businessman and reality star turned Republican presidential nominee.
Democrat Hillary Clinton won New Jersey’s 14 electoral votes with 55 percent of the vote, a total of 1,947,650 votes.
It was a much different story in Cape May County. A total of 49,568 residents turned out for this election, a full 70.01 percent of registered voters in the county.

Trump won the county with 28,237 votes, good enough for 57.74 percent of the vote. Clinton collected 18,626 votes for 38.09 percent of the vote.
Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson was third with 895 votes. There were 531 write-in votes.
Green Party candidate Jill Stein had 387 votes, followed by.

Constitution Party candidate Darrell Castle with 164 votes.
No other candidate earned more than 100 votes.
In Atlantic County, where Trump built his casino empire in the 1980s, Clinton edged Trump with 51.15 percent of the vote. She had 54,472 votes, compared to 47,882 for Trump. Atlantic County saw a turnout of 107,925, or 61.93 percent of registered voters.
Johnson had 1,915 votes, Stein had 933, and there were 750 write-ins. Castle had 243 votes, and independent candidate Gloria La Riva earned 143 votes.
One thing that isn’t reflected in the numbers is when people made up their minds. U.S. Rep. Frank LoBiondo initially said he would not vote for Trump, but ended up casting his vote for the eventual president on Tuesday.
