Esther Weil Student Music Competition In Ocean City May 3

This contest is designed to encourage and reward high school age vocalists and instrumentalists along their music education path.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The seventh annual Esther Weil Student Music Competition will be held at on Wednesday, May 3, 4 p.m. on the Ocean City Music Pier (Boardwalk at Moorlyn Terrace), city officials said this week. This contest is designed to encourage and reward high school age vocalists and instrumentalists along their music education path. It is sponsored by the Friends of the Ocean City Pops.

Prizes for each division range from $1,000 for first place, $500 for second place and $250 for third place. There will be 28 musicians this year, including 15 vocalists and 13 instrumentalists.

There are 13 different high schools from Cape May and Atlantic counties represented. There are also two home-schooled entrants. This event is free and all are welcome to attend.
