TED is an international non-profit devoted to bringing people together from different disciplines (technology, entertainment, design). It started in 1984 and has broadened its scope to literally hundreds of topics—interesting ideas presented by interesting people. Every 2nd and 4th Thursday at 12 Noon, a local moderator will introduce and show a preselected TED video. These talks generally run about 20 minutes. After the showing, the moderator will lead a discussion until about 1:00pm, when those that choose to continue the discussion can go to lunch.
