Dave Huffman will demonstrate his wood carving skills at Stainton’s 810 Asbury Avenue in Ocean City, NJ on Sunday, June 24 at 12:00pm. Dave practices the Stylized Wood Carving method, which favors form over detail, allowing the natural state of the wood to dictate the direction and color of each wood design. With a carving knife or bench knife, Dave will be demonstrating the shaping process and displaying materials and examples of each stage of the design.
Dave’s acquired skill originated in northwestern Pennsylvania, passed down from his father and grandfather. Dave’s wood carvings, each capturing the “spirit of the wood” are on display at Mountain Magic Wood Shop located in Stainton’s Gallery of Shops.
Stainton’s provides demonstrations and various other entertainment on Sundays throughout the summer season.
